Here’s the short of how to navigate this list. Every coffee shop I’ve been to is here. Some appear more than once because they fall into more than one category. Whenever I am looking for a coffee shop, these are the areas I’m most interested in. If there’s something missing, let me know below!

Q: What are your top four favorite coffee shops in DC and why?

One // La Colombe

La Colombe is hands down my favorite coffee shop in DC for one simple reason. AMBIANCE. The vibe there is so cool with it being in an old warehouse. The vibe also cancels out the fact that I actually hate their coffee and opt for tea. But if you had to choose one spot, this is the one. Ambiance and wifi. What more could you need?

Two // Grace Street Coffee

Grace Street has the best mocha in town in my humble opinion. They make it with super fresh chocolate milk and it is divine. They’re also super nice there. And they have wifi and TONS of seating. While it can get crowded on the weekends, it’s still a great spot 24/7.

Three // Slipstream

Slipsteam has a great ambiance that’s super conducive to work which is why it makes my favorites list. Plus, they have an espresso tonic that is unlike anything you’ll ever have.

Four // Big Bear Cafe

If you haven’t figured this out yet, ambiance is what I’m after. When it’s nice out, this is an ideal spot to go and hang out on their outdoor patio. It’s super relaxing and draws a cool, eclectic crowd.

Q: Where should I avoid at all costs?

N E V E R    E V E R    G O    H E R E  (I used to have posts on these up, but they were so bad they had to go)

Uprising Muffin Company

Little Red Fox

Retrospect Cafe

Did I miss anything? What do you look for in a coffee shop?
